Yesterday my uncle Rudy came over. I call him uncle Boet because my mom calls him that. He had his lunch at my house. At first I didn't know that he came over because I was watching Elmo on TV. But then my mommy turned my seat around and there he was, standing in front of me, my uncle Boet. He is mommy's younger brother. Uncle Boet doesn't have stubby fingers like I do.

I LuV mY tV!!

I love watching TV. I get to watch it everyday especially every morning when all my favourite shows are playing. My favourites are Dora the Explorer, Sesame Street, Elmo's World, Lilo & Stitch, and even some of my mom's HGTV shows!

His 6 months birthday

The little guy is growing up so fast. I can't believe it's already been 6 months since he was born. I still remember the long night I spent in the delivery room... sleeping! (I luv epidural!) Lucky Mike also got a free cot and was able to sleep through the night with me. Nicholas just didn't want to come out. But now that he's out... he's growing like crazy. He's now about 20lbs. He's outgrowing his car seat, which is a good thing because I'm having a hard time carrying him in his car seat. I still remember when we took him home from the hospital, he was so little, so tiny. As much as I miss him that size, I sure don't miss those poopy, crying, feed-me-every-2hrs-moments!!!

What Nicholas learned recently

It was his daddy who made him hold the bottle. I've made numerous attempts to make him hold his own bottle before, but I was never succesful at it. Perhaps it's because I've tried it with the bigger bottles. It seems like he can hold the little bottle. It suits his size anyway. Doesn't he look so cute?

Double Header Poopy Slam!!

So, is it normal for babies to poop twice in a row? Unfortunately it is. He just did it. I had to change his diaper twice in a row.

The first one was such a disaster. I knew it sounded loud and wet. But I had no idea that it would leak all the way up his back. Again! What is going on? He's already wearing the larger size diaper! Perhaps I should shop around and try other brands. So far what he's wearing hasn't been able to capture and hold it all in!

What a mess!! Usually I have Mike to help me out. But since he's at work, I had to handle it all by myself. It was quite a challenging situation, but mommy's got it all under control. Got Nick all naked, got him all washed and cleaned, and even got his stained clothes all washed. I feel proud and accomplished.

Brought Nick back down, watched more tv, when suddenly... AAAaaaahhhhh!!! It all started again! I quickly took him to the bathroom & removed his clothes. *phew* No accidents this time. It wasn't as much as the first, that's probably why.

All is fine again for now. He's relieved and is watching HGTV with me. We love our TV.

High Chair King II

With Daddy - look at the difference in size!

High Chair King

My little Chocho is now big enough to sit in his highchair. He can now eat with us on the dinner table. Time flies by so quickly...

C is for Cookie!!!

So yesterday I was eating my Dad's Oatmeal with chocholate chips cookies. My friend Stell introduced to it me and practically got me hooked on it. So there I was eating my cookies, infront of my little Chocho. He was staring straight at me and my cookie. He then started moving his mouth as if he was chewing, and slowly his drool made its way to his bip.

I knew then that he wanted some. So I decided to let his little tongue have a little adventure! The first initial taste test took about a few seconds, and I thought that was long enough. But then he started to reach out towards the cookie! Ofcourse, I had to give it back to him. He then tried to pull a fast one on me! He looked like he was going to take a biggy bite, at which point Mike & I started laughing at him. Didn't see that one coming! But nice try little guy! I still let him have more taste tests, though. In the end he was trying so hard to bite a little bit off, he does have 2 teeth already... I was afraid he was going to be succesful at stealing a piece of my cookie. So I decided it was best to stop. Looks like I have a lil’ cookie monster!

C is for cookie, that’s good enough for me!!!

The runs

First he was constipated. Now he's actually gone to the other extreme. The runs.

Go figure.

His doctor said perhaps he picked up a virus somewhere. He kept pooping everytime he ate. It's not right at this stage. Everytime I'm feeding him, he would let out the loud-wet-fart. So one time he did that, I ran upstairs to clean him up. I took off his clothes, removed his diaper, and washed his butt in the sink. After I cleaned him, I was ready to dry him off. I picked him up, supported his butt with my right hand, and was about to put him on the changing pad to dry him off when suddenly.... my right hand felt warm.

Then I saw his feet, they were yellow!

Then I looked at my right hand... he pooped right into my hand!! AAAAAaaahhhhhh!!!!

In fact, he squirted so hard that he managed to get poop on the floor, on the counter, & in the sink....

I wanted to cry! I decided to take him straight into the bathtub to give him a bath. Afterwards I had to disinfect the entire bathroom. Yuck yuck yuck!

Anyway, things are much better now. He has stopped pooping frequently & now he's back to his pooping-once-a-day schedule. We've also given him a larger size diaper. He's now wearing size 4. I can't believe it. He's already wearing size 4. He's growing up so fast.

My constipated baby chocho

I can’t believe he was constipated! He didn't poop for 4 days long. Mike & I were very concerned.

It all began when he started eating his baby rice cereal. Though it didn't start right away, he was adapting well to his new food. In fact, he loved it. He loves eating. He's a big eater, and I don't even like to cook! I'm so in trouble!

Anyway, back to his pooping issue. Or his no-pooping issue. I knew he was constipated. By that age he usually pooped once a day, unlike the time when he was younger. Because he was constipated, his farts were really potent. I mean, really really stinky! Luckily, it was time to bring him to his pediatrician. So we reported his no-pooping issue to his doctor, and his doctor suggested to continue feeding him normally for another day. If he still didn't poop, we were to give him prune juice (yuck!).

Lucky for him, he dodged the prune juice. When we got home, he let out his first poop after almost a week without pooping. We were so afraid to check out the diaper scene. It turns out that he didn't let out too much.

…that means he’s still got stuff inside…

He didn’t get to clear his system for another couple more days. The BIG one happened while I was giving him his tummy time. We were just having fun on the bed when suddenly he let out this loud-wet-fart. Quickly I took his clothes off because his diaper has the tendency of letting him leak all the way UP his back. (go figure)

The HORROR!!!

The diaper was full of the grossest & stinkiest poop he ever let out. I couldn’t breath right. I was gasping for fresh air. No human should be handling that kind of diaper without wearing a gas mask. It was so insane that I could not roll up the diaper. I had to trash it in a separate plastic bag and tie the bag so tight so that the smell wouldn’t leak out. Miraculously, he didn’t stain his clothes.

At last, he was fine again. His farts are now back to normal, loud & unscented! =)

I LoVe tO eAt !!!

I have been eating my solid food for quite a while now, since I was 4.5 months old. I love it when it's time to eat. I also like to watch what my parents eat. I'm very curious of the type of food they eat, as well as how they taste. My mom is the best. Once in a while she would share her food with me. She would actually let me have taste tests!

So far I've tasted the chips, cookies, grapes, bananas, green peas, AJ, and peach yoghurt. I love them all! I can't wait to taste more food. These days my parents are feeding me my rice cereals.

All these good foods are making me grow big and strong. My doctor often tells my parents that I'm much bigger than the average baby my age. That would always make my parents smile. =)

This is me at 5.5 months old
