Checking out the school

While waiting for Santa, we went to see Nicholas' class. It was neat to find things about him around the class. We found a few things on the Future Aces wall (the Future Aces is a proactive character building initiative which is followed by his school to reinforce positive behaviour). Apparently his teachers spotted him sharing his toy bike, tidying up, and helping someone.

We also found one of his art work displayed on the wall. Apparently it was an oatmeal painting.

A summer collage his teachers made: One of them was taken during "Hawaii week". You may notice Nicholas in there with his Hawaiian shirt on... =)

This is the beehive class (toddler room), minus the bees. ;)

They have pictures on their shoe drawers:

Richmond Hill Santa Claus Parade 2007

Last weekend we went to the Santa Claus Parade for the first time. Yes, it was the first time for Nicholas, for myself, and practically for Mike. He thinks he might have gone when he was very young, but since he doesn't remember it, it was just like his first time.

We didn't go to the downtown parade. I'm sure the downtown parade would've been much nicer, but it was good to not get stuck in traffic to get home. We were lucky that Nicholas' daycare is located right at Yonge St., and that it was open for the day just so that we could park there and watch the parade from the playground.

Here's the boys waiting for Santa patiently.

"There! There!"

"I see something coming!"

"High Five!"

Didn't know Snow White does Christmas! =)

We went inside to check out the daycare and I was about to get a hot chocolate when suddenly we heard "HO HO HO!". We kinda missed Santa, and were only able to catch a glimpse of his... butt.

Trip to the pediatrician

Last week Nicholas went to visit the pediatrician with Mike for another needle. He now knows enough to get upset even in the waiting room. He was quite nervous and started whining, asked to go home and looked for me. And of course, he cried as soon as his doctor stepped out to call him in. He stopped crying when they went home. At 97cm tall and 15kg, he is apparently the size of a 4yr old. Crazy.

Random Conversations

While Nicholas is watching Elmo:

Me: "Nicholas, can I have a hug?"
Chocho: "Chocho's beesee" (busy)

While Nicholas is getting ready for bed:

Me: "Nicholas, can I have a hug?"
Chocho: "Chocho's tie-yed" (tired)

While potty training:

Me: "Nicholas, are you done pooping?"
Chocho: "No luck"

While Mike is trying to sneak some veggies into Nicholas' food:

Chocho: "No green! No green!"
Mike: "It's not green, it's meat"

While Mike is trying to wake him up in the morning:

Mike: "Time to wake up, Nicholas."
Chocho: "OK! OK!" (said impatiently - then goes back to sleep!)

While Mike is trying to rush him out to go to school:

Mike: "Let's go or you'll miss breakfast if you're late"
Chocho: "Wait! Wait!"

While picking his own nose:

Chocho: "Yuck!" (the volume of the "Yuck" is proportional to the size of his booger)
or sometimes:
Chocho: "Oooo, big one"

And he's only 2 right now. What will he say when he's 15???!!!

Happy Halloween!

This year, we decided to take Nicholas out for trick or treating. He ended up having a blast! He dressed up as Dash from the Incredible as he`s got the Incredible PJ. Just like Dash, he was pretty fast. He zoomed from house to house and loved ringing the doorbell. Although he can`t say `Trick or Treat`just yet, he always says bye to everyone after he got his treat. We only went for about half an hour, the rest of the night, Chocho gave out candies at home to all the kids that came over. Including to the big teenagers!
