Sportball Champion

Two months ago, we decided to pull Nicholas out of daycare 2 days a week, and enrolled him into this Sportball class in the nearby community center. In the class they introduce new sports each week. There were tennis, golf, basketball, volleyball, etc.
We thought this would be a good idea to do since he will be starting JK this coming September. Since he's such a shy guy, we wanted to try to expose him to new friends, and new environment. Plus it's fun, and he could use the exercise.

Initially he didn't like it. He was not participating with the activities at all. He would sit in the corner and just watch everyone play and run around the gym. The coach, Tuan, was very patient and very good with him. He tried to get Chocho involved as much as he can. He would hold his hand and told him that it's ok if he only wanted to watch first.

Finally, by the third class, Chocho lighten up and started participating with the activities. He started running around, jumping over hoops, and bouncing balls all over the place. Finally he says "Ball class is fun!"

Now the ball class is over and in the last class, the parents were invited to participate. At the end, they were all given a ribbon as Sportball champions! Now he misses his ball class and is playing soccer in the house all the time...

Four-leaf Clover

We were doing more gardening in the backyard when Dada spotted this four-leaf clover! I've never seen one before myself and I'm quite excited! Should've bought the 649 right away, oh well. :) Isn't she a beauty? :)

Just like her older brother, she can fall asleep during a meal as well!!

Watching TV together

Ice Cream

Since it's so nice outside, we decided to have some ice cream in the shade in our backyard. But not Jasmine, of course. :) She only gets to watch for now.

After watching enough ice cream eating.. :)

'Sum 'Sum Summer Time 2009!

The weather is getting better now and we've been visiting the park more often. I found this nice park where I go do my yoga with Jasmine and we decided to go there this past Sunday. The weather was crisp, and the park was clean & quiet.

Chocho got a new bike last weekend as well. Dada bought him a new one since he outgrew his tricycle. He also got a complete set of helmet (McQueen, of course), and knee pads (McQueen again). Now that he's riding around the park, Dada is getting quite the workout by running after him all the time. :)

This park is pretty big and it's also one of those water park. Can't wait to go back there in the summer when it's a hot day and they turn on the water so the kids can run around and get wet. I also had a chance to do some flower close up shots as I missed the sakura ride at Highpark. :(

Coco

Yesterday I heard this big sound of something crashing into our kitchen window, and I asked Mike if he knew what it was. We've been having bees and birds flying and crashing into our kitchen windows, not sure why. We don't even Windex them! :) Imagine if they were Windexed! :D We've also had this (not-so-bright) bird hitting the glass sliding door over and over and over again. (maybe he's trying to break in? or maybe he thinks his reflection is his nemesis? who knows) So yesterday Mike said it might just be another bird. Was he ever right.

This bird crashed so hard into our window that some of his short feathers were stuck on the window (not sure how), and he landed on our deck on his side, panting so hard we thought maybe he wouldn't make it. :(

So I asked Mike to go out and help it. Not sure what we were going to do. We do have a pet hospital just 1min drive away, I said maybe he can take it there. Mike was going to go out and help him up 'with a stick' he says. I thought that was so mean, so he agreed to handle the bird with his gardening gloves.

Chocho decided to give the bird a name, Coco. :D All morning long we took care of Coco. Well, Dada did. We watched from inside. We got him a shelter, and let him rest in there. I was even going to go out to Walmart and buy some seeds for him.

Coco rested quite well. He slept for a bit in the box, and after only about an hour or so, he started walking out of the box. Next thing we knew he left a little goodbye note and he was gone. :) In his little note, he thanked Dada, for not handling him with a stick. :D

This was our second time visited by a bird. Our first bird encounter at home was when the blue budgie came over to play.

Hope you're doing ok out there, Coco! :)

Mother's Day 2009

Mother's day is so nice. It's like a birthday to me, except I don't get older. What a bonus! :)

This year, Chocho, Jasie, and Dada made me a collage of the two little ones. They both wore the same Mummy shirt and each held a flower for me. Similar to my first Mother's day with Chocho in 2006.

Chocho also made me a card and some flowers from school.

Here's Chocho 'fluffing' the flowers just before giving it to me. :)

Chocho: "Fluff fluff fluff my pretty flowers."
Jasmine: "What's he holding? They look yummy!"

We had a very busy day that day. We started the day by going to church. Miss Michelle, one of Chocho's daycare teacher, apparently saw us at the church but we missed her. Then we went to Mike's mom, then we went to have some sushi at the park, then we went to my mom, then we went to High Park to catch some cherry blossoms, which unfortunately, we missed by a week. After that, we went to have dinner with my family.

At High Park we missed the cherry blossoms, but we found this great big playground palace. The place was swarming with kids and Chocho was very excited when he saw the place. He ran straight to the crowd and Dada almost couldn't keep up because he was also pushing Jas. Together, they went into the palace and were calling me from a distance.

After playing at the playground, we went to the zoo. We started seeing some Llamas, and a Cattle. But since we didn't see anybody else, and we were running out of time, we went home instead. We'll definitely try HighPark again another day. There's alot more to see and do.

Thank you Chocho, Jasie, and Dada for a fun day!
