Usually when we go to church, I like to bring Nicholas up with me during communion. Babies and little kids normally get a blessing when their parents bring them up. I wanted to line up at the line that meets the Priest, but because the other line was empty, we were told to go through the other line instead. So I was disappointed that I didn't get to bring Nicholas up to the Priest today.
When we went back to the back of the church (we came in late, therefore we had to stand at the back!), I pointed out this big yellow sun behind the Cross up above the Altar. He spotted the big sun, and got so excited. He said he wanted to go see the sun. I said go later after the mass ends. However, he, (of course), did not want to wait!
So he started walking towards the front, through the side of the church. Halfway up the aisle he stopped and turned around. Mike said, "he'll come back. He won't go all the way up there all by himself." YEAH RIGHT! Nicholas kept moving forward, never looking back anymore. We all started panicking at the back. By this time, he was already right infront of the Priest who was about to start his announcements for this week. The Priest spotted Nicholas and said "Why hello there my little friend. Are you lost? Did you lose your parents?" Speaking to the audience, the Priest said "He must be responding to God's calling" (which was the topic of the day). The entire church laughed.
Mike is now on his way up to the front, and the Priest pointed to Chocho "Here comes your daddy!". But of course, the little guy refused to go with his dad. He only wanted to keep going to see the Sun right up the Altar. Mike was too afraid to drag him back because he could be making a huge scene (as if he wasn't already!) and would disturb the Priest's announcement. So he just squatted up there trying to persuade Nicholas to come back very lightly.
Mike was not successful at persuading him to come back, because by now, Nicholas has started his first step up to the Altar. Once the Priest finished his announcements, he looked around and said "Where's my little friend?". By now, his little friend was right where he wanted to be, just behind the Altar, staring up at the big bright Sun right behind the Cross. The Priest came and picked him up. Nicholas, surprisingly, stayed quiet and allowed the Priest to pick him up. Normally he wouldn't react so nicely with strangers. The Priest was about to get ready to do his final blessing, when Nicholas said "Dada...". (We heard him through the Priest's microphone). The Priest then let him down and said good bye, and Nicholas finally runs back to Mike.
Just when I was disappointed that I didn't get a chance to bring my little guy up to the Priest so that he could get his special blessing for the day, he went straight up all by himself and even put on a show for everyone at Church today!
welcome to NICHOLAS' and JASMINE'S blog! tune in often to see what else is new with them!

Baby Idol
Lately Nicholas has been singing alot. The first song he ever sung was the alphabet song. I remember the first time I heard it, I didn't even know he was trying to sing. But then I realized he was reciting the alphabet. Ever since then he's been singing the song over and over that he's got all the words memorized to the end. The best part is when he reaches the "L-M-N-O-P" part, he tries to sing it fast it sounds like "a-ol-a-ol-pee"
Another song he knows very well is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. He practically has it all memorized. One song that's funny is the "Old McDonald had a Farm" song. He can only remember "Ol donal had a farm eeeya eeeya oo... moo moo there moo moo there.... ol donal had a farm eeeya eeeya ooo..." sometimes he'd do the horse, so he'll say "neigh neigh there neigh neigh there..."
But the best for me is the "Barney I Love You" song. He doesn't remember all the words, but he knows what to do (as in, hug, kiss, and give high five). So he'll begin "IIIII laf you.... YUUU laf me.... and a hug...(he'll hug), kissy me... (he'll kiss), friend...(he'll high five).... won't you say you laf mee TOOO".
Now he's ready to audition for Baby Idol. Watch out William Hung!! Here comes Chocholas!
