Jassie at meal time

This was Jassie at lunch time today.

Baby Chores II

Here's Chocho "training" Jassie how to do the laundry. He is no longer the only laundry helper now, so when the time comes, Jassie will be able to help out with the laundry as well.

Chocho: "remember, Jassie, when it says 'do not machine wash or tumble dry', it means that you never have to wash it, ok?!"

Funnies

We don't really like it when the kids start playing with our cameras, but today when I was washing dishes, Nicholas got a hold of my camera and started using it. Now that I'm going through the memory card, I've found some interesting shots.

This is my favourite one (she lost her eyes from laughing so hard):

Of course, pictures of himself:

Lunch today

We had some spaghetti for lunch today and everytime he eats spaghetti, I always make him remove his clothes. :) It only makes sense, otherwise he would have spaghetti stain all over him and that would be a laundry nightmare for me.

I gave Jasmine some carrots and blueberries to eat for lunch and of course, she made quite the mess instead.

So I decided to take out the camera to take some pictures of the mess Jassie made, and as a bonus, I got some laugh from Chocho.

My Family

I love to draw my family. Here's my latest drawing.

Chocho & Jassie

(Jassie's way of kissing: mouth opens wide)

Soccer

Dada was a soccer player when he was younger, and has decided to take Chocho out to play soccer together whenever the weather co-operates. (It has been a wet and rainy summer here in Toronto) Lucky for Dada, Chocho loves to play soccer. But then again, Chocho loves to play any sports game, and especially if there's a ball involved.

Here's Dada back then when he was a young'un...hehehe...

Here's Dada and his young'un...

Here they are playing together. And while the boys were playing, Jassie decided to go on a stroll around the park.

Bobble head

In an effort to keep his head from bobbling all over the place while he's asleep in the car, Mike came up with this. That's Dada's shirt that is tied around Chocho's head against the headrest.

Random Conversations

In the morning before he heads to daycare:
Mama: "come here give me hug and kiss"
Chocho hugs & kisses me.
Mama: "eat your breakfast"
Chocho: "ok"
Mama: "eat your lunch"
Chocho: "ok"
Mama: "take a nap"
Chocho: "k"
Mama: "don't hurt anyone at school"
Chocho: "k"
Mama: "play nicely"
Chocho: "kkkk"
Mama: "be a good boy"
Chocho: "okayyyyyy! Why do you talk so much?" (walks away)

We were talking about Dada's coworker, uncle Kendrick, and Chocho cuts into our conversation:
Chocho: "who's uncle Kendrick?"
Mama: "you know him. we went to lunch with him and uncle Ka, and aunty Corrie and aunty Vicky"
Chocho: "i don't remember what he looks like"
Mama: "he was the one that bought you the cold coffee drink"
Chocho: "oh. he has big eyes. bigger than uncle Ka's eyes." :)

Chocho looking for his sticker he got from the Walmart lady:
Chocho: "where's my sticker?"
Mama: "dunno, didn't you stick it on your chest just now?"
Chocho: "that's not my chest. that's my belly."
Mama: "wow, your belly goes all the way up there. that's a big one."
Chocho: "my sticker is gone. maybe it sticked off." :)

Birthday parties

Nicholas gets quite the birthday invitations from his friends at daycare. Almost every party he went to was held at a party place, basically an indoor playground where they have alot of toys, jumping castles, and cakes. His friend Ethan had a party a couple of weeks ago and when Nicholas found out there was going to be a party, he never stopped talking about going to it.

Now that his birthday is fast approaching, I have to start planning what to do for him since he has been asking if it's almost his birthday yet.

Here's Nicholas, Ethan and Finlay, some of his buddies at school.

Jasmine update

Jasmine is now 10 months old and is very active. She started crawling about 3 months ago or so, and when we were in Indonesia, she started pulling herself up to a standing position. Jasmine is extremely mobile, she climbs everything and walks everywhere in her walker.

Her favourite food, sadly, is paper and paper product. Everytime she gets her hands on paper, books, magazines, tissues, napkins, receipts, they would eventually land in her mouth! When we take it away, she screams in anger and cries! Chocho was never this way, I remember he liked shredding tissues, just like her. But I don't remember him always eating them (unless he always did it without me looking!). In terms of eating, Jasmine is quite picky... By this age, backthen Chocho was already eating our food but blended. Jasmine is still insisting that she is fed only her baby cereal. She would spit out anything else but the Milupa oat/apple baby cereal. When I tried to feed her real food, she spits them out instantly. I hope she would change her mind soon since she really needs to eat more variety. She's a formula drinker now and she's a BIG milk drinker! She takes at least 250ml in one sitting and she gets her bottle at least 4 times a day. With 6 teeth and more coming, I hope Jasmine will start accepting food other than just her cereal.

Her sleeping habit is improving. I've been training her to sleep on her own without the help of any sucking or milk drinking. She has been able to do so with me just waiting in her room. Since we came back from the trip, she has been able to sleep through the night. And when she does wake up at night, she is able to go back to sleep on her own. I should've trained Chocho as well back then. I remember Chocho never slept through the night yet at 10 months old.

Jasmine is a babbler. "Pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa", "mumm-ma", "hmph", "a-tchoy-tchoy-tchoy" are some of her vocabs today. She interacts with her brother well. And when she doesn't like something, she makes sure she shows it! Alot of the feedback from my relatives in Indonesia is that she's "galak" (mean/strict). :) She gets mad at you if she doesn't like what you're doing to her. She especially does this with her big brother. She would yell at him and scream at him! :O In the car they like to interact with one another. They especially love to make the spitting noise at each other. When Chocho starts it, Jasmine would always laugh, and do it back at him. :)

Yesterday at Walmart, I went through the toy section and saw a little baby doll for only $5. I decided to get one for Jasmine since she has only been playing with Cars and trains or whatever else her brother is playing with. I thought maybe it's a good idea to give her a girly toy, and it's also a good opportunity to "tap" into her maternal instinct. :0) She loves it and has been chewing her baby's feet and hands. :) Chocho also loves it and keeps playing with it as well. Looks like I've also tapped into his maternal instinct. hehehe...

Here's what Jasmine looks like today. She loves to smile and her hair is now completely down. The tip of her bangs likes to go out, she goes for the Tintin look. ;)
