Chocho's funny moments

Chocho's been trying to communicate with strangers once in a while now. There were a couple of funny moments while we were out with him.

One day we took him out to the store where we ordered a new set of tires for our car. While we were waiting to speak to someone at the counter, there was this lady who works there, kinda went in front of us to speak to one of her coworker. She was kinda loud, and Chocho noticed her talking. Then he looked at her and started babbling "waaa waaa waaa waaa waaaaa waaa waaaa..." at her. The lady didn't notice (or maybe she was trying to ignore him?), not sure why, cuz he was actually loud enough and he was right there next to her. I couldn't believe it I just couldn't stop laughing. As if he was mocking the way she was speaking or something.

There was another time when we were at his pediatrician's waiting room. A nurse walked across the room right in front of him, and Chocho noticed her. At first he just stared at the nurse, when suddenly he went "HOOOOH!!!" really loud out of no where. It startled everyone that everyone turned around to look, including the nurse who was walking. She had walk away and actually looked back to see who hoooh-ed her! That was so funny I couldn't stop laughing for a while. It was as if he whistled at her or something. Mike told him that he shouldn't be doing that when he's older cuz it'll be freaky instead of funny.

Too bad there are no pictures/clips of these moments. I wish it was all caught on tape.

It's apparent that you're a parent when....

1. you start humming kiddy songs
2. you use words like 'poopie' instead of 'dump'
3. you tell people what the number of the day is and where Grover just came back from

I Love to Swim

I've gone swimming a couple of times now, it's alot of fun. I can't wait to go again. The pool has alot of toys and floaters that I can play with while in the water. My daddy tried to take pictures of me in the pool, but he got in trouble because apparently no cameras are allowed. So he only managed to get one shot, but I wasn't even ready so you can only see my back. But there I am sitting in my dolphin floater.

Bye Bye Bunns!

This week we said good bye to our bunnies, Snowy, Charlie, & Mr. Peetee. We decided to put them up for adoption because we are so busy with Mr. Chocho that we are neglecting the bunns. We wanted to make sure that they find a good home, and so we started offering them to people we know. Finally we created an ad and sent it to a couple of our friends to advertise. The very next day we got a call from a lady who was willing to adopt all 3 at the same time. She is a coworker of one of our good friends. Apparently they have been looking around for bunnies for their kids. We invited them to pick up the bunns the next day. Her kids were all smiles as soon as they got here. The little boy even kept going into the bunn cage (all cleaned and washed by Mike) cuz that's how happy he was!

So hopefully the bunns will love their new home and will get more attention they deserve. We had a good time with them. They were our babies before Chocho was born. We would bring them in their pet taxi when we used to visit my dad. I remember my dad complaining that we were always carrying bunnies instead of a baby... We'll always remember those carrots & banana moments we shared with the bunns. They used to be extra friendly whenever they sniffed a banana.

Chocho never really got to play with the bunns, but we managed to introduce him to them just before they were picked up by their new owners. He was not afraid of them, in fact, he was pulling their fur and their ears around too much I had to break the fight. (nowadays he's pulling everything he can get his hands on).

My first mother's day...

Today was my first time celebrating "mother's day" as a mom. Well, I guess last year was my first time, but Cho Cho was still in my belly so it doesn't *really* count. Today was the real deal. He is here now and even gave me a big wet droolly kiss and all this morning.

I still can't believe that I'm a mom. It seems like it was just yesterday when I was pulling an all nighter studying for my tax finals at UofT with my friends. I also remember skipping an assembly in high school and actually getting caught. That was my first and last time getting in trouble in highschool. What a loser I was! ugh. And now? I have a little one who looks up to me and is relying on me for everything. That's pretty scary.

I haven't considered myself to be a mom yet, not entirely anyway. All I've been doing up to now is just change his diapers, feed him, put him to bed, carry him, and play with him. Nowadays he is starting to understand my emotions. He would laugh or smile when he sees me laughing. He would be frightened or serious when he sees me mad. He's already trying to communicate with me by moaning. He knows when it's Sesame Street time and would actually sit there and watch the show from start to finish (he even watches the credits at the end of the show!).

Now that he's almost 8 months old (wow!! time really flies!!), my job is definitely getting to be more difficult. I now have to start disciplining him. Soon I'd have to teach him the difference between right and wrong. I cannot show my weakness since he'd be watching my every move. It is definitely quite scary, how fast my life is moving on to that stage. What if I don't know how to answer his future "but why mommy ?"-questions? What if I can't make things better for him? What if I teach him the wrong thing?

.....what if I screw up?...

I guess all I can do is simply to take things one step at a time and do my best in guiding him through his life. I have to be strong & brave. I can no longer be afraid of the dark. I can no longer be afraid to go down to the basement by myself. I can no longer be lazy on the couch like I used to. And hopefully I'll do fine. Mike is there with me, too. So hopefully things would be ok. =)

Here's my little Lovasaurus giving me my first mother's day flower.

Thank you, lil Cho Cho, for giving me a reason to celebrate mother's day.

Luv,
Your muh-mah.

Sum-sum-summer time-summer time!!

I haven't blogged in a while. I've just been chillin' at home watching my friends Cookie Monster and Elmo.

Recently my parents took me out to do some fun stuffS!!! I got to go to the playground across the street. My daddy put me in the swing and pushed me off and there I go flying in the air! It was alot of fun.

Last week my parents also took me out to go swimming! It was so much fun. I love the water. I got to meet other babies my age who were swimming in the pool with me. I can't wait to go swimming again! No pictures yet, though. My mommy and daddy forgot to bring their camera to the pool.

What have YOU been doing this summer?
