Chocho loves to watch everything we do and he's always learning everytime he watches us do things.
Our TV at home has the audio/video plugs right in the front for convenience and everytime Dada plugs/unplugs, Chocho would watch. Since it's very easy, within reach, all you have to do is match the colours, it's very convenient for Chocho to experiment.
Chocho has this Crayola Electronic Colouring Book that he got from aunty Corrie & Uncle Ka, and it requires you to plug it into the tv. Dada would always tell Chocho that he would do it, but being Chocho, he always wants to do it himself. So one day while Opa was watching both Chocho and Jasmine while Dada and Mama were sick...:
Chocho runs upstairs
Chocho: "Dada, I'm sleepy. I think I'm going to go to bed now."
Dada: (While lying down on the bed resting) "No, you can't. You haven't had your dinner yet. And you just got up from your nap."
Chocho: "But but, I'm tired. I'll just go to sleep anyway."
Dada: "No, you have to eat dinner first. Let's go down and eat dinner now." (Dada gets up)
Chocho (panics): "Uh Dada, when you go down the stairs, turn right, ok?! Don't turn left." (Left is towards the TV room, right is towards the kitchen)
(Dada is confused.)
Chocho: "Ok Dada, you turn right, ok? Don't turn left."
Dada: "Why? I don't understand?" (Dada still very confused)
They went downstairs, and Dada turned left. He asked Opa who was sitting in the TV room with Jasmine.
Dada: "Do you know what he's done? He doesn't want me to go this way."
Opa: "Oh, he pulled those plugs off the TV."
Chocho got yet another warning. :)
He's one sly boy! Too clever for his age, and what's scary is that his little sister is watching his every move and must be learning stuff from him!

Chocho can also be a very sweet boy:
One day, I was looking at my mom's picture and was sad again. Chocho caught me with my teary eyes and asked me what was wrong.
Mama: "I miss mak Hiang."
Chocho stares at me: "But, I have her."
Mama: "How?"
Chocho: "She's in my heart."
Mama: "oh ya, that's right! Who else is in your heart?"
Chocho: "Jesus is in my heart."
Chocho: "But but, they're out right now."
Mama: "Why? Where did they go?"
Chocho: "Uhm uhm, they went to get some food. Mak Hiang is hungry."
"Mak Hiang and Jesus are hungry and they go out to get some food right now. They told me that they will come here and will borrow my food." (BORROW!) :)
"And and I will have to throw the food at their car and they will wipe their car with the wipers."
The story was getting too long (and got really weird!) and Mama was too slow to document it all...

One day Chocho was singing (Rory the racing car)in the hallway upstairs and Dada walked into our room and closed the door behind him.
Chocho: (opened the door) "DADA! I heard a loud noise! And I couldn't sing anymore!!"

Together on the laptop
Both Nicholas & Jasmine loves the laptop, but then again so do Dada and Mama. :) Here's the two of them on Sesame Street together. Notice how Chocho kept trying to pull her away. :) By the end of this clip, Jasmine yanked out one of my keys off my keyboard. :(

This evening, Dada and Chocho were looking at an old popcorn bucket we got a while back when we watched the movie Shrek 2. Dada was telling Chocho that he saw that movie with mama a long time ago.
Chocho: "that movie was playing before you were born."
Dada: "no, I was born much longer before this movie was done." "When I was born, there were no computers or laptops!"
Chocho: "WHAT?". "You guys are funny!"
Mama and Dada were laughing so hard at Chocho's reaction...
Tonight the four of us were sitting around together when I started calling Jassie's name just to see if she knows her name or not by now.
Mama: "Jasmine!"
Jasmine turns to me
Dada: "Jasmine!"
Jasmine turns to Dada
Chocho: "Boopah!"
Dada: "what's boopah?"
Chocho: "that's Jasmine's name."
Dada: "no, her name is Jasmine."
Chocho: "no, her name is boopah poopah."
While Dada had mouthwash in his mouth:
Chocho: "dada, is that mouthwash in your mouth?"
Dada didn't respond
Chocho: "Dada, do you have mouhwash in your mouth?"
Dada didn't respond again
Chocho: (mad) "Dada! I'm talking to you!"
Dada spits out mouthwash: "don't ask me while I have mouthwash in my mouth! I can't talk when I have mouthwash in my mouth."
Chocho: (mad) "but you can just say uh-huh and do this (chocho nodding his head)!"
Defeated, Dada was speechless. Mama laughed at him.

More playdates
Yesterday Jasmine & I actually ventured down to my workplace. We made a date with Ethan, my coworker's son who was born 2 weeks just after Jasmine. However, Ethan is way heavier than Jasmine already, and he hasn't even started eating his solid food yet.
The four of us went downtown with the subway with big strollers. I haven't walked this much since, perhaps, the last day I went to work! What a workout that was, pushing a stroller with someone in it all over downtown. I realize now that the subway system is lacking convenient wheelchair access. I was told that not all stations have elevators! We were having a hardtime with one elevator at union station, but luckily we had strangers helping us carry our strollers up/down the stairs.
When we got to the foodcourt, we had a good time sitting around and catching up with another coworker. Jasmine didn't really give me much time to eat my lunch, since she was really interested in catching up with Ethan. This was her second date with him. :) They had a good time staring and touching one another. Ethan was extra excited since he's now into reaching for things. Jasmine was mostly doing alot of staring while Ethan was doing all the work. :)
On our way home, Jasmine was all tired and slept the entire subway and car ride all the way home.

Jasmine still unsure about being with Jen

Playdates
Jasmine has been busy having playdates with alot of mama's friends' babies. This year, quite a few of my friends are also off on mat leave. So we've been meeting with them and will be meeting them more often now that the weather is much nicer!
Here's Jasmine's date with baby Justin who was born on Feb 3rd. They're practically the same weight already!! Jasmine is definitely watching her weight carefully. And she doesn't like being with strangers.

One day Chocho was in trouble because he was not listening to Dada. Dada got quite frustrated and got mad and eventually so did Chocho!
Chocho: “You don’t touch my stuff, ok Dada!”
Dada: “I can touch your stuff. I bought them for you!”
Chocho: “But not this one. (referring to the Crayola Electronic Colouring Book)”
Chocho: “Aunty Corrie bought this one for me. So so you don’t touch this one, ok Dada!” (mad)
Dada is feeling so defeated, has nothing else to say to Chocho. :)

Just having some fun
Dada had to do some work after work tonight and the 2 kids decided to have some fun with one another after dinner. Chocho loves to make Jasmine laugh. He would do anything silly just to get her to laugh. So once I was done washing dishes, I grabbed my camera and started taking pictures and videos of the two silly ones. I hope they will always be this close forever!!

Nicholas loves taking a shower. It is just like playing in the rain for him. But we hardly give it to him because it's just not practical. We usually give him regular baths, where he sits in the bathtub and we clean him up, etc. But the last few days he's been asking to take "UP shower" as he calls it. So finally, after rejecting him a few days, we gave one to him yesterday.
He went into the shower by himself and Dada had to get his arms wet to help him with the soap and shampoo.
Dada: "ok, I'm going to put some shampoo on your head, ok?"
Chocho: "ok."
Dada: "ok, now rub the shampoo with both hands and make alot of bubbles all over your head."
Chocho: "ok. Stop looking."
Dada ignored the comment.
Dada: "ok, I'm going to give you some soap and you rub it all over your arms, belly, and legs."
Chocho: "Uhm uhm Dada, can you get out of here."
Mama: "That's not nice! You have to ask nicely."
Chocho: "Get out of here please."

One day we went to pick up Dada for lunch and Chocho happened to be at home with us. So we went to Dada's work, and I pointed out the IBM name around the corner by the parking lot. I said to Chocho to read the company name.
Chocho: "Eye Bee Ehm"
Dada gets into the car and I told him that Chocho knows that he works for IBM.
Dada: "Do you know where Mama works? She works for C I B C."
Chocho: "See Eye Bee See? That's silly!"
Dada: "Why?"
Chocho: "Too many letters!"

Chocho is not allowed to play ball inside the house but he loves to play soccer. Since we haven't taken him out to the park, one night when Dada was out, Chocho started playing soccer at home.
Chocho: "uhm Mama... I dropped the soccer ball in the basement. Can you get it please?"
Mama: "No, we're going upstairs to get ready for bed now. Just ask Dada later to get it for you."
Chocho: "But but but Dada will know that I play soccer, so so, don't tell him that, ok?"
Mama stayed quiet and is enjoying the funny moment.
Chocho: "ok mama, so you get the ball, ok so dada won't know. otherwise he'll get mad. ok mama?"

Jasmine plant update
Jasmine standing
Guess who's back. Back again.
Not sure if this is the same guy that came last time, but if it is, he's alot thinner now! Last time we were visited by these cranes since they were having buffet meals at our next door neighbour's house apparently. Our neighbour had this pond full of koi fishies, and the cranes apparently finished them all (10-15 of them) last summer! Crazy birds! We didn't know about it until much later when we chatted with our neighbour and they told us about it. Now this guy is thinner, because there are no more koi fishes next door!
