Jasmine
We've had this plant for a while, infact it belonged to my mother. She took care of it so well that it was always so lush and green and the fresh scented flowers would always be blooming away. But when she passed away, we failed to take good care of it as well as she did. Mike & I took it home and tried to care of it, but neither of us have green thumbs that recently the plant was dying because of a root rot. I guess it's because we never replaced the soil and we watered it too much that the soil stayed wet.
For a while, the plant was drying out and the leaves have all fallen. We're very sad because it's such a nice plant and the flower is so nicely scented! Nicholas loves smelling the flowers everytime they bloomed. We even named our baby girl after this plant.
We didn't want to give up and we quickly replaced the soil and watched the amount of water it receives. Not too long ago we started noticing new buds! It's amazing, because the whole thing is pretty much very dry! But 2 new leaves have came in and it looks like it's trying to grow a little flower. It definitely reminds me of my mom & that she's still with us today. We're keeping positive and hoping that the plant will recover so that one day Jasmine will also be able to smell its lovely flowers.

Happy Valentines Day!
Earlier this week Nicholas came home with a list of names of all his friends in his Achievers class. (heehee.. Little achievers in the Achievers class) We couldn't believe it when we counted 29 names on that list! That's alot of kids, even though it doesn't seem like there are that many everytime I go over to his school. Maybe some are part-timers, who knows.
This year Nicholas wanted to give out some treats to his friends as well as Valentines cards. So mama & Chocho went shopping for some candies and some cards. Nicholas was in a pretty good behaviour the entire time we were at the store. He did get disturbed alot by all the toys and all the candies around him. He kept stopping and picking things up and saying "hey, Mama, what about this? I like this." He picked up toy cars, Dora placemats, garden fan, stickers, wrapping paper, and many other things. I had to keep him focused the whole time, and we finally agreed to get chocolate hearts, lollipops, heart stickers, and heart erasers to give out to his friends. We also picked up loot bags to put the treats in, and Chocho picked out some ribbons to tie the bags. Chocho told Mama to get 3 rolls of ribbons, but Mama said 2 were enough.
When we got home, we started packaging the treats and writing out the cards. Chocho was supposed to draw little eggs on each card when he decided that there were way too many cards to work on and gave up after drawing on the 3rd card. :) So he decided to just put stickers on each one. When Mama was tying the ribbons, she realized that she should've listened to Chocho and get that third roll because she ran out. Luckily we have some red ribbons leftover from Christmas.
It was quite fun working with him preparing the stuff to giveout. It was quite the work but it was fun. He brought the treats to school on Friday and had his teachers give them out. When he came home that day, he came with a brown paper bag full of Valentines treats from his friends. He got so many candies and chocolates, and cards. Even Mama had to dip into the bag of gummybears he got from his teachers. :)
Happy Valentines Day!

Can you feel the luuvvv? :)

Mess
Today was an off day for Nicholas. Maybe he woke up on the wrong side of the bed, but as you can see, he was not having fun since breakfast time! :( Maybe it's because tomorrow is Valentine's day and his girlfriends no longer go to his school & he's very unhappy about that.. :(
When this mess happened, Dada told me to quickly grab the camera. I couldn't stop laughing and Chocho said "Mama don't laugh! It's not funny! Don't take my picture!!" I guess I might get in trouble in future for posting this up on their blog.

Nicholas just came home and saw Dada snacking on chips.
"Hey Dada I want some chips!"
Dada shares
"Hey Dada I want some more chips please"
Dada shares some
"But but I want more."
"That's enough."
"No that's not enough! I want more!"
"OK, that's it, no more after this!"
later on,
"Dada I want one more chip please."
"No, I told you no more!"
"But I just want one more. Just one."
Dada gave one.
Dada: "Nick, Do you want cake?"
"nnhh!"
"OK, Mama, do you want cake?"
"Yes please"
"I want cake, too!!"
"But you said no!"
"But I didn't say no. I said nnhh!"
Chocho: "Mama, can I watch tv for a minute please?"
"Uh..no, I'm watching Deal or no Deal right now."
"But you gotta share!"
"Ya and you gotta wait for your turn."
Mama: "Hey Cho, can I watch tv now? We've been watching Treehouse all day."
"Not yet Mama."
"But you gotta share! And Franklin just finished! See? It's my turn now."
"No, it's not finished yet."
"But I see the credits, it's finished already"
"But Treehouse is not finished yet."
"Treehouse is never gonna be finished!!!" *grumble* *grumble*

Nicholas talks way too much these days. There are days when we pick him up from school and he would talk and talk and talk and talk and talk and talk in the car all the way home. There are days when we wish to have a quiet day, but he would always talk his way through our quiet moments.
One thing we noticed is that when we tell him something new, he will always repeat it to you over and over from time and time again. Such as, Dada told him recently that socks don't keep his feet clean or dirty. So once in a while when he sees socks he'd say "Dada, socks don't keep my feet clean?" Dada says no. "They don't keep my feet dirty, too?" Dada says no. "If I don't eat properly then you will get mad?" Dada says yes.
There are times also when he will test your memory. Such as,
"Dada, I want a hamburger.."
"No, we don't have any hamburgers.."
"But I heard you say we're going to Wendy's!"
"What?? No I didn't!!"
The other day when Chocho went to the toilet to do #2, he told Dada to leave the bathroom. That has never happened before, usually he doesn't mind the company. ;)
"Dada, you gotta leave now."
"Why?"
"Because, my poo is coming."
"So?"
"Dada you need to move away because my poo is going to hurt your feelings."
"Go away Dada, go away!"
"Ohh-kayy.."
Tummy Time
Jasmine is nearly 4 months old now and has been doing alot of tummy time lately. Surprisingly, she seems to be a natural at it when we first introduced it to her. We remember Nicholas hated tummy time quite a bit, and it took him a while to get the hang of it. Our theory to explain the difference is the fact that Nicholas has such a big head, way bigger than Jasmine's, so it was harder for his neck to hold it up! :)

Happy Birthday Dada!!!!!!!!!!!
Today is Dada's birthday and unfortunately we've been sick... :( This is our 3rd round of flu since the new year, and hopefully it will be the LAST one for the next few months!!!
While Dada was at work on his birthday, Nicholas had a day off & was preparing at home. He decided to make his own birthday card. While he was making Dada's card, I realized that Nicholas is now ready to learn to write his alphabets. He started writing letters on his own. I had to show him how to write them, and most of the time he can copy by himself without me guiding his hand. I think with a little daily training, he should be able to write soon.
Along with the card, he wanted to make stuff for Dada using his play-doh. Lucky for me, he asked me to help him make a spider for Dada. ugh. Couldn't talk him into making something else, so I had no choice but to make the spider. It was a little deformed, but it was gross enough!
We also baked the usual butter cake for Dada, and I asked Nicholas to choose the colours for his cake. He wanted red. With green writing. Since I didn't want to use too much food colouring, Dada ended up getting a slightly pink cake. Still with green writing, though. :) We sang the happy birthday song, and as soon as the song finished, Nicholas jumped off his seat and BLEWWW all the candles out. Finally realizing that it wasn't his cake, he paused and gave a funny "oops" look to Dada. :D Crazy guy!
Jasmine was on her best behaviour until the very end, when she finally got tired of it all and decided to give alot of her lowerlip on the family photoshoot!
Happy Birthday Dada! Hope you had a blast!!! Thanks for being the greatest Dad!
